Re: ALTERNTIVE TO THE GoPro CAMERA

There's the Drift HD that some like.

And the Contour HD, (a stripped down N-Flight cam)

Those along with the GoPro seem to be the big three in aviation.

Re: Landing gear

Ideally, no there shouldn't be any play. I've used a couple washers fore and aft of the oleo to remove the slop. At the same time, don't get things so tight they bind up.

Re: Who signs for what?

It will require an IA to sign off the airplane; there not much an AP can sign off, and realistically it's not practical. Personally, I like to list as much information possible in the logs, but other do not. I would suggest you contact the IA and ask him how much info he needs for the sign off. I've...

Re: STOL kits on 65 hp 11 AC's ?

Avgas, and lots of it. Spend *quality* time flying the airplane; slow flight, stalls, T/O and landings.

Valdez Stol competition was won by a guy in a J-3 and VG's. He kept the airplane light and flew the crap out of it practicing.

Re: 11CC Landing gear/oleo assembly parts help?

My next question is: does that mean that the (soon to be) Aluminum retainer will fit inside the Bronze Bushing while sliding the oleo into the Bronze Bushing while into the frame? Yes it will all slide together. The retainer is smaller than the inside diameter of the bronze bushing. (The top of the...

Re: 11CC Landing gear/oleo assembly parts help?

Wow! The bushing is a press in, friction fit, and like Mike said, should stay in the case frame. Have you considered repairing the gear or is it too far gone? Upload the photo's to a web provider... Flicker, picasa, photobucket then copy the [img] tag and link it in your post. The NAA site has limit...

Re: Need Camshaft for C 85

Cams are getting hard to find. When the little Cont. engine shops find one they usually snatch it up. It might hurt the wallet, but you might want to grab this one while you can.

Re: The Restoration of N2120E

One tip to mention... I made the bows that go fore/aft first and I think that's important because everything it scaled off them. I matched the two halve exactly like is shown above, but I made a critical error. I assumed the bolt holes were the same between left and right. They are NOT. Luckily it w...

Re: The Restoration of N2120E

Confession is good for the soul... After finding the crack in my right front spar, I got a new blank from ACSpruce and proceeded to mill it out. Well... I'm still trying to figure out how it happened, but I drilled the root fitting holes about 3/8" off... http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b391/nato2...

Jeff, post a pic of your project. You're fairly close aren't you? Wings and fuselage about done? Re: Suction Cup Sunshades

We use something similar in the demo Cubs. They leave a slight ring but it can be wiped off with a soft rag. I carry one of these in my flight kit, and they come in handy with bubble canopy's. Because they are cling style, they leave no residue. I found them at a WalMart or Target for about $12. htt...

The website can only HOST a limited amount of photos. I suspect if we all chipped in $20-30 a year, Joe could upgrade the server and we could host more on site. I use an off site hosting, such as www.photobucket.com ; but there are many other sights out there. While it is a little more involved to u...
