1946 7AC For Sale

I am just not flying my Champ enough to justify the hangar rent and insurance costs. :( It is a very nice airplane with many upgrades that I have installed. I am an ATP, A&P, I.A. with 50+ years of Aeronca / Bellanca / Champion ownership experience. http://i1264.photobucket.com/albums/jj487/kf7pc/Se...

Re: Small Continental Crank?

My parts book shows the 530196-A1 for the C75 and C85. The parts interchangeability catalogue shows the same part number for the A65 engine. The overhaul manual shows the main journal size as 1.872 minimum, 1.8730 maximum. 1.870 is the "service maximum" but crankshafts can be ground .010 under the n...

Re: C-90 in a 7AC

Go to http://www.aeronca.com and click on Service Letters. Take a look at SL 13, 14, 15 and 16. These are factory (FAA approved) instructions to install a larger engine. The upgrades are for the Continental -8 series (no electrical) series of engines. If you want a starter and/or generator, then the...

Re: Jokes

He left home about 8:30 a.m. to do some work in his hanger at the airport with his friends. On the way out the door he answered his wife's "what time will you be home?" question with "probably about 1:30, I'll have lunch at the airport." 1:30 came & went, 3:00 passed, 6:15, still not home, finally a...
