Re: Anyone have an alternator on a Sedan with the Continenta

Check out the Luscombe site; they have an STC for an alternator to cover the Sedan; Matt Sieber used it when he did his restoration. I convinced the Holder to add the Sedan so I could export it to Matt and other foreign owners. I can only export this STC/Kit. I cannot sell domestically; the Holder r...

Re: New Sedan Ribs & Wing Trailing Edge Extrusion; Lift Stru

Rib and lift strut update: The new wing rib prototype/first pressing will be here in about 10 days. We will conform the parts to their respective drawings. Once this is complete we will order sets of new ribs and start building Sedan wings. On another front I have just place the order for the new li...

Re: New bearing kits for aileron and elevator bellcranks

Well, all things being equal in today's economy my projected "guesstimate" for cost on these kits went out the window when all was said and done. Engineering costs were several thousands of dollars. (More than 5, less then 10) Material costs were more, machining was more than expected and the bearin...

Re: New bearing kits for aileron and elevator bellcranks

Richard,

Thanks for the help; darned if I can figure some of these things out. That's why I don't do my own website!

New bearing kits for aileron and elevator bellcranks

We have just completed the engineering and prototyping of new aileron and elevator bellcrank bearing replacement kits. The original Nice 1200-17 sanded bearings, which were poor at best when new, are no longer available. In our pursuit of replacements for the new Sedans we decided to use parts that ...

Another new part for Sedans

In approximately 6-7 weeks we will have the 7-830-17 Strip, Trailing Edge. These are approximately 71.25" long; they are an extrusion that is somewhat of a keyhole shape and finish the trailing edge of the wing inboard of the aileron bay. Our minimum purchase on this is 100 lbs draw so there will be...

Another new part for Sedans

I am happy to announce the we now have new 1-3657 aileron pulleys. These are the large, rather wide, aileron pulleys that are installed as pairs, located at the bottom of the control column. These have the floor seal cover over them next to the side of the cabin wall to seal out exhaust and outside ...

Re: Anyone have any issues with the welds on their metal fue

I don't know why the welds started to leak after all this time. (200+ hrs?) I have no answers for you on that one; especially since I could not look at the welds directly. The tanks are manufactured here in our facility, 100%. There is no outside "farming out" of work. The PMA would be no good if we...

Service Bulletin SB 15AC06-08-10 Amendment B & Cover Kits

Once again, after all was said and I thought done, the FAA had me amend the service bulletin as well as the Cover/Doubler Kit Installation Instructions again. There are some slight changes from the Amendment A that is posted but does not change the context at all. The changes are just enough to forc...

Re: Spar Cap Angles Have Arrived, Cover/Doubler Kits on Hold

The spring blanks arrived yesterday and am in the process of forming the springs. The first kits will ship by next week. Already have orders for several sets. This first order is only enough for 50 planes. Lead times will not be as long but will take time. If you wish to install the kits now speak u...

Wing Spar Cap Service Bulletin Amended

At the risk of stirring the pot or opening Pandora's Box............... I wrote an amendment to the Service Bulletin on the wing spar cap angles (June 23, 2011). Since the FAA has not been forthcoming with any information or extensions I took it upon myself to handle the seemingly biggest issue here...

Re: Spar Cap Angles Have Arrived, Cover/Doubler Kits on Hold

Matt, The covers and doublers that we will be supplying are the same part/part numbers of the covers and doublers that are already used in the Sedan wing; 2-1272 Doubler and 2-1285 Plate. The plate will come with the springs already riveted on. Also, rivets will be supplied as well as a better drawi...

Spar Cap Angles Have Arrived, Cover/Doubler Kits on Hold

As of Monday, July 18, 2011, we will be able to ship out spar cap angles to those that already know they need them. The upper cap angle is $250.00 each and the lower cap angle is $200.00 each. There will be a $25.00 crating charge added to each shipment. The packing/shipping tubes can hold, I'm gues...
