Re: franklin engine mount

I would call Burl Rogers. The Type Certificate holder. He might have a mount for a Franklin, he has almost everything else.

Re: Air / Oil Separator -> Engine Corrosion

Matt:

I talked to Burl last year about a winterization kit for the C-145 Sedan. He said he was working on one. I dont know if he has it ready to sell or not.

Re: Chief ash tray assembly

If you still have an extra tray, I am missing one out of my sedan. I bet they are the same.

Re: Repairing EDO 2000 floats

Harmoni: I took the rear mounts off last year when I recovered the plane, just have not put them back on yet. These floats have been with this plane for 65 years, except for the short time when they were stolen. I got the printed FAA maint records, but there is nothing there with serial numbers for ...

Re: Repairing EDO 2000 floats

Bob: I have a set of blank EDO dataplates. When I talked to EDO about this they said that using my blank plates was unauthorized. If I cant find the serial numbers on the floats(they said they should be there under the porkchop mounts) then I would have to have the FAA declare them lost and fill out...

Re: Seaplane takeoff dolly help needed

I have seen it done about 4 times. Three times they just used a flatbed trailer or flatbed truck. the truck started down the runway with the planes engine idling and when they reached a speed just under stall the plane ran up the throttle and flew off the trailer as it passed the stall speed. The ot...

Re: Repairing EDO 2000 floats

thanks for sharing those pics of your floats. They make me feel much better about my EDO 2000s for my Sedan. Mine were installed on the plane in Jun of 1950. So, they must be 50 or older production. They were stolen once and the thief removed the data plates in an attempt to conceal the theft. Didnt...

Re: Rear window installation.

I used automotive butyl rubber window sealant that comes from NAPA in a box. The sealant is in a round bead which is on a wax paper type of packing. It is soft and formable with your fingers. One box was enough to set both windows with a bead between the plexiglass and the wood. It seems to be worki...

Re: Deregistered Aircraft

My Sedan was deregistered when I bought it. It took about 4 months to get the original registered N number back. A lot of that was my ignorance of the system, but it did slow me down in getting started to work on the project. I have just reregistered it a few months ago before I had ever even flown ...
