Re: Carb needle 390077

I found this It is necessary, if you want a leak-free installation, that the needle and seat are lapped to be leak free. See the article on Stromberg needles and tips for that guidance. Although the Neoprene-tipped needle did not need lapping, their use has been superceded by the stainless steel or ...

Re: Carb needle 390077

I am getting old and the memory fades back and forth, but I thought the neopreme needle had been abandonded and were no longer produced.
The delrin needle was its replacement and needed to be lapped correctly to get it to seal, which most people failed to do resulting in a leaking carb.

Re: Arkansas Airplane

Arkansas is a big state. Are you looking at a plane north or south of I-40?

Re: L16 photo from ebay

Do you remember the N number in the Ebay listing. I have been recording every Aeronca I see for sale with as much information as I can collect. I may have what you need, but I have it all saved by N number and possible serial number. Looking forward to seeing you and the airplane next year in Middle...

Re: Champion 7JC Owner Died N610WA

I have begged and encouraged Scott to make a concerted effort to locate the logs and he has assured me they went through everything in the house several times looking for them. I even suggested going back to the last person(s) who might have worked on it thinking the logs were never picked up after ...

Re: Champion 7JC Owner Died N610WA

Well I was away for a couple of days and thought I would check in on the auction.

It was speculated the high bidder knows where the lost logbooks are........hmmmm

We have jumped another $2000 since the last check.

Re: 7BCM-173

Paul it looks to be an easy fix if you have a TIG welder and some talent. If it wasn't in a country I love who frowns upon foreigners working in their country I'd take the TIG across the border and lend some support to save this gem. I have an extra 'A' frame or two and a couple of axles too. When I...

7BCM-173

I was passed an email from Stan Janicek seeking information about this Bulletin Board so he could list his 7BCM-173, which had suffered a left gear failure when landing. Stan related the woes many feel when they need major maintenance or repairs and their go-to-guy, who knew everything about Aeronca...

Re: New Sedans available!

An after thought if you are really looking for a Sedan, Mike Hoag in Three Rivers, Michigan is one of the most knowledgeable people around. I heard he might have one or two he just finished rebuilding. I don't have his contact information at hand, but I'd bet Joe A has it burried in one of his littl...

Re: Champion 7JC Owner Died N610WA

Paul, I'm about 6 hours away from the plane, but would be glad to bring my trailer if you want to move it by land. I don't know the local airport in Iowa or what facilities they have. I can find you a grass field about 20 minutes east of DAYton Ohio for $100/month if that will help. I know a couple ...
