Welcome and glad to see another L-16 being brought back to life. Bill Chappel has worked on one or two or more in the past and frequents this forum. I'm sure he can share some wisdom as your project evolves.

Paul, I asked him to pass along the new buyer or invite him to join our group. Stan said he thought the buyer was going Canada ultra-light user maintenance and didn't think he'd be joining us. I have a few people in Canada who will still speak to me :lol: and maybe we can keep tabs on it.

I found this It is necessary, if you want a leak-free installation, that the needle and seat are lapped to be leak free. See the article on Stromberg needles and tips for that guidance. Although the Neoprene-tipped needle did not need lapping, their use has been superceded by the stainless steel or ...

I am getting old and the memory fades back and forth, but I thought the neopreme needle had been abandonded and were no longer produced.
The delrin needle was its replacement and needed to be lapped correctly to get it to seal, which most people failed to do resulting in a leaking carb.

Do you remember the N number in the Ebay listing. I have been recording every Aeronca I see for sale with as much information as I can collect. I may have what you need, but I have it all saved by N number and possible serial number. Looking forward to seeing you and the airplane next year in Middle...
