Re: Determining Champ Value

Sounds like you made a good deal for everyone. As Paul mentioned an airplane that has sat for many years or the fabric is old but still tests good and hide a lot of damage that is unknown.

20th Biennial Convention

The 20th NAA Convention is set for 18 to 20 June 2020! As President, I’m pleased to invite everyone to the Aeronca event of the year. Come see the finest assembly of Aeronca’s on earth! Visit the plant-site where almost every Aeronca was made since 1940. Tour the current factory, now part of Magella...

Re: Champ Aux Tanks installed i/a/w Aeronca Drawing 7-1001

Carlton your idea is going to require the FAA Aircraft Certification Office (ACO) in your region and an extensive engineering study of the final strutural integrity of the wing with the tank installed. You have to remember who governs certificated aircraft and nothing is simple. If you were working ...

Re: Champ wing tanks

Berrer you should educate your local airport. If they take Federal dollars for airport improvements there are precedents to overturn the ill-formed regulations. Most of these regulations were enacted by local airport authority to prevent the use of auto fuel and loss of revenue/ Do they also prohibi...

The only issue I have identified is missing logs prior to its restoration in 1989 and its been through...

Re: Windshield for 65-TC

Jerry It sounds like Cee Bailey wanted you to design 'their mold' at your expense. I believe Cee Baily has been purchased by DesserTire & Rubber because Desser is who answered the Cee Bailey support line when I needed help with 'D' window that didn't fit correctly. It is not surprising they shipped ...

N3340e-

This was an old post and it is doubtful the nosebowl in question is still available.

You might want to reach out to Scott Johnson who had several last summer skot7ac@icloud.com

Re: Champ needs a prop

Jack- Your search is asking for something that is hard to find "a used fresh O/H" prop. Most people will not spend the money for an O/H because its circa $1000 to get the 8130 and a logbook sticker. Better you should search for the length and pitch you want and purchase on the condition it will over...

Good to know about the covering options available. I'm inclined to spend some time and tie the seine, especially on control surfaces.

Re: Convert Champ to Sport Pilot

Paul your understanding of the CFR never ceases to amaze me. We have blindly been led to believe that if an aircraft at any time since its certification had its MGW increased above 1320 it was no longer eligible to be considered a light sport aircraft (which it never was in the first place). Robert'...
