Re: Continental A40

Fresno doesn't have any?

They have gone on-line https://www.fresnoairpartsco.com/

and I see the A40 didn't make the website. (now I'm looking for the ad in Trade-a-Plane)

Re: Another Chief Restoration

Great advice Paul. I would never have thought to secure the top of the fuselage using a rib stitch.

Re: New Chief Project

Welcome aboard and glad to hear the paperwork is handled. I was fortunate writing a casual letter to the previous owner of my Chief who just happened to have the logs that were missing. He was more than happy to send them to me.

Looking forward to following your progress.

Re: Restoration questions

Dave- Yest that was my website. I used it to document my work for my IA and then to supplement the records I presented to the FAA to prove I had the required experience to take the A&P exam. You are correct about the two long bolts at the bottom of the wraparound(boot cowl). They are taken out at th...

Re: Restoration questions

Chapter 2 - I just looked at your first post again and having recovered from my Middletown adventure will pass along my observations. 1. Fabric tape was used in many places I believe you are refering to friction tape used by electricians. This was used to prevent chafing and because there is very li...

Re: Restoration questions

Well you have a rather LARGE list of questions I will attempt to respond to from my experience. 1. On the firewall flange The wraparound or boot cowl as it is sometimes refered to is riveted to the firewall flange. The top and bottom engine cowls are secured to the firewall flange/wraparound with a ...

Dick-

Your image link is bad and the picture will not display.

Can't understand why FLICKR will not work for you.

Email it to naa-bb@celinaux.com and I will see it gets up if you can't edit the link.

Re: Champ Empty Weight help needed

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I understood the factory weighed the production model they certified with the FAA and every airplane after that had the same basic weight and appliances were calculated and added on. That is why the empty weight from the factory is so hard to duplicate as ...

Re: Champion 7JC Owner Died N610WA

Bob- I have asked the auction company, asked the executor of the estate, tried every avenue to ascertain where it went and have nothing. Unless you were there and saw them load it up I don't know who else to turn to. That registration can sit for a couple of years canceled before they have to file a...

Re: Radio Antenna Help

Well that's a fine piece of test equipment. I am comfortable with a Bird Truline wattmeter that you turned the sampling element forward or reverse. The meter has a FUNCTION and POWER position. Each seems to have Forward or Power and Reflected or SWR. Are you sure the meter was calibated and operated...
