Re: Champion 7JC Owner Died N610WA

Bob- I have asked the auction company, asked the executor of the estate, tried every avenue to ascertain where it went and have nothing. Unless you were there and saw them load it up I don't know who else to turn to. That registration can sit for a couple of years canceled before they have to file a...

Re: Radio Antenna Help

Well that's a fine piece of test equipment. I am comfortable with a Bird Truline wattmeter that you turned the sampling element forward or reverse. The meter has a FUNCTION and POWER position. Each seems to have Forward or Power and Reflected or SWR. Are you sure the meter was calibated and operated...

Re: Hooker Bolt-in shoulder harness set for Chiefs available

Nearly everyone was at the 19th Biennial Convention so this may take awhile to get an answer. There have been several threads here and elsewhere that have pictures of how others have conquered the attachment issue in Chiefs. Bill Pancake had an attachment he fabricated to solve the problem. I am a b...

Re: A65 cylinder cooloing baffles

Going from memory and at my age that has proved falable, but the inner cylinder baffles the large is on the bottom and the small piece is on the top. Air entering the front is directed to the top of the engine and the rear baffling forces it to be directed down through the cooling fins. The large in...

Re: Restoration questions

David- Lots of good questions that I can't clearly respond to. The brain trust is assembled in Middletown for the next two days so give it a couple of days before someone can respond adequately. The friction tape has been painted with various products from varnish to poly-tak Wag-Aero has those fabr...

Re: Radio Antenna Help

Justin- Typically the antenna lead has a male BNC connector and most SWR meters have an SO-239. That would require a BNC to PL-259 adapter. So if you are inserting it between your radio and the antenna, and the SWR meter has SO-239 input connectors, your would need two adapters and a coax jumper wit...

Well I have been busy and missed this post until Wednesday afternoon.

Headed to Middletown in the morning. Was going to fly, but have elected to drive just to have a vehicle on hand.

See you at the Convention Paul

Re: Checking Electrical System

Justin, If you can locate a hydrometer each of the six cells can be checked for specific gravity. It sounds like you might have a weak cell, which means bad battery. If you go the Concorde RGB route, be advised those batteries like a trickle or float charger connected if they are not being cycled ev...

Re: New Chief owner

Congratulations Bob! Every hour I spent in the Chief when we got it made the smile on my face get a little wider. What Paul and the others have said about the Windows. The A-75 is little more than 'feel-good' hp. Same engine that turns a little faster. Bill Pancake's C-85 STC is the best $310 invest...

Justin-

You are welcome. It is a simple process once you get used to the hoops needed to make it happen. Size matters and images greater the 1024 pixels tend to occupy more than the normal window on a lot of computers.
