Re: Desser 850x6 4 ply tundra tires

Flying Jack- STC SA3019WE is for the nstallation of 8.50 x 6.00 4-ply rated, Type III aircraft tires. It doesn't say where you have to buy them. Here is a link to the STC http://rgl.faa.gov/Regulatory_and_Guidance_Library/rgstc.nsf/0/2ebe2b6b2563f7ba85256cc2000a92c0/$FILE/SA3019WE.pdf While the STC ...

Re: How to disassemble Scott 3-24B Steering arm

Jerry-

Really interested in reading your solution for opening, cleaning, and reassembling the steering arm. Hope you stay motivated.

If using your suggested non-invasive method of flushing/cleaning the part, would there still esist a flow issue to properly lubricate the cleaned part?

Re: Wanted" Carb Heat/Air box for A65 in 1946 7AC

Paul- I had the opportunity to take a Rotax 2 cycle class at Leading Edge Airfoils (owned by Wag and in the same building) We shared the rest room with Wag's manufacturing area. It was routine to see motor mounts or other metal parts being fabricated from raw material. We'd pass by bins of cut parts...

Re: Fuselage envelope

Brink- I've used envelopes twice and won't do it again. Once on wings where holding the seam straight was a nightmare and the second on a 7AC Champ that the envelope would not pull forward over the cabin section and I had to cut the fabric on a line from the rear windows. I have bought parts from Ai...

Re: Question about cracking paint....

Paul- The Stewarts process is incredibly forgiving and easy if you forget everything you knew about covering and follow their procedure manual. I've not mastered the top coat application using Stewarts and freely admit its my fault. I have been tempted to apply the top coat with a roller to avoid th...

Re: Question about cracking paint....

Respectfully Brink, the PolyFiber techniques you describe differ so much from the procedure manual I am required to use to have a valid STC I'm not sure we are talking about the same covering system. 2 brushed coats of PolyBrush followed by 2 sprayed cross-coats of PolyBrush (thats 6 coats total) th...
