Does anyone use a JVC GZ-MG630 HDD camcorder in their aerocraft (Champ type) if you do how does it work? Any examples of one being used on YOUTUBE?

Best person I know of with airborne video is Chris Hyatt. Hope he chimes in on this thread.

That's Chris Hiatt......I wish it was Hyatt, I might have a little more $$.

Anyway, I use a tube mounting system that was laying around the hanger. I have mounted it in several different locations however, I have found the best video with the least interference "for me" is the location in the photos below. Most all video camera come with some type of mounting device on the bottom. Mine takes a small bold to hold it to the mounting bracket.

FYI, I removed mine because It was making me do stuff that might have made really good video but, I wasn't ready just yet to die!

Chris, send us a link to some videos. It's cloudy and gloomy here. It would cheer us up! David J.

Thanks Chris, I enjoyed your videos, that's a pretty good looking mount seems stabilized enough. I'm still looking at cameras at this point, I've been looking at JVC's they have lots of goodies in them, but I think they might have stability problem, I've been told they won't stand the shaking they get when mounted on the dash. However I can't draw any conclusions from that alone. Well, I better get going and look at some other ones today.

Weather has been lousy here as well but it did break up a bit last weekend, long enough for me to take this video. My camera is just a little Nikon coolpix, not really a video camera but it does a decent enough job for a YouTube post.

Here's another one my brother took from the back seat since I haven't yet perfected my one handed landing technique. You can see how much oleo travel there is in the "no bounce" gear. Something that I had to get used to!
