Paul,

Yes, the measurement of the ratchet wheel will help. How much area of the ratchet wheel, before it turns aft, is in contact with the spinner bulkhead?

Thank You

Charles

Charles,
I'll measure the wheel for you. It's not much more than the flange diameter. A spacer is also used to move the spinner forward.
Paul

Spinning the bulkhead is a several step process.

Spin flange rearward and contour the bulkhead face.

Charles,
The contact area is about 5 1/2 inches. The taper shaft engines ratchet wheel is .125 aft of the prop adapter and the flanged wheel is about 2 inches aft of the flange, forward face.
Paul

Charles... found the old spinner bulkhead that I removed from the 1947 Chief, with about 1200 TT on it now.

Joe,

Thanks, this project has been very fun and rewarding. I appreciate the NAA forum allowing me to show the progress of the spinning process.

11AC spinner update: I am waiting (eight weeks now) for a threaded bushing, from an outside vendor, to bond the shrink mandrel laminations to. This part is holding my progress up!!!

I need a W72CK Sensenich wood propeller (any condition) for final fitting of the trimmed spinner assembly.

Thanks

Charles

Charles,

Did you ever find a prop hub? Might have one if its still needed.

Joe,

Mike B. helped me with a prop hub, Thank You very much Mike!!!

I am still awaiting the "treaded bushing" to bond the mandrel laminations too. Also, waiting on a response (three weeks now) from Sensenich for a tooling prop.

Aeronca Community,

I have gone back to work full time, my time in the shop is limited. I am "not" stopping progress on the spinner assemblies, please be patient with me.

Thank You

Charles

Are there any areas on the spinner & bulkhead that you as the Aeronca community would like to see improved or changed?

The machine shop has started on the threaded bushing for the shrink mandrel, hope to receive this week.

Still waiting on Sensenich for a W72CK propeller for tooling cut-outs.

Charles
