I'm seriously considering buying a dedicated comm for my Champ. Has anyone had any recent experience with the MicroAir 760?. I think the XCom 760 is made by the same Australian company. But not completely sure. ***** If take out my existing compass and relocate to the top of the panel, I can get adequate hole space for the radio & the length from the front of the panel to the gas tank is about 6.24 inches, more than enough according to the mgf. literature.

I had a MicroAir 760 in an Ercoupe about 3 years ago. I thought it was a very good radio, no problems. A local Chief has one mounted in the panel which he runs off a battery. I don't know the battery's amps, but he says it runs a long time between recharging. His only problem with the radio is seeing it. It is small, small numbers, etc. but then that's why it will fit in a standard panel opening.

I have the MircoAir 760 in my Champ and love it. It's hook up to a E.L.T. antenna and works great. Mark
