Help

Post by Jerry » Thu Dec 11, 2008 17:37

I'm looking at the Lawrance airmap 2000c and the Bendix/King av8or. Both about the same price. I think they both have about the same functions? If anybody can give some help pros cons I would sure appreciate it. I know one has been around longer than the other.

The Lowrance was what I was going to purchase before the AV8OR came out. The only drawback was battery life if I remember correctly....and the screen looked too 'pixilated'. I may be wrong but it seems there were "lock-up" problems also with the Lowrance. But for the price it is a good unit. I ended up buyin an AvMap EKP IV and love it. Big screen for failing eyes and very clear.

Would like to see both of them in hand. The new AV8R looks very nice.

I don't know about the 2000C, however my Lowrance airmap 500 is indeed a battery hog.
