We will have some nose ribs (5-465, rib, nose) (5-471 L/R, rib, tip ass'y, nose) available along with the intermediate rib (5-467, rib, wing, intermediate)by the end of Dec/Mid January. Other dies are being made now and will be available within the next 3-4 months. There will be a total of 22+ dies made to complete the set.
Also, now in stock, is the wing trailing edge extrusion, 7-830-17, strip, wing trailing edge. These sell for $70.00 each, 72" long (70.62" used). Call (907)688-3715 for quote on rib price and availability.

Also I would like to get a head count on who may need wing lift struts; this is also in the works for production line-up. These will cost approx. $800.00 each. They will be formed and center-punched for the end fitting bolt holes. Since there is no way of knowing what sized bolts have been installed in existing struts and end fittings we will not drill holes. Max bolt diameter is 5/16"; standard size is 1/4" diameter AN bolt.

Rib and lift strut update:

The new wing rib prototype/first pressing will be here in about 10 days. We will conform the parts to their respective drawings. Once this is complete we will order sets of new ribs and start building Sedan wings.

On another front I have just place the order for the new lift struts. By all indications we will have enough to fit 26 airplanes. The first 12 are on reserve for the three new AeroSedans that we will start production on later this summer. Hope to have a new AeroSedan completed by Christmas. Been a long time coming and lots of work but will definitely be worth it.

The cost of the struts will be $930.00 each. Crating and shipping charged on individual basis. We also have new, STC'd steel lift strut end fittings. These will be standard for the new AeroSedan.

As stated before, they will be shaped and center-punched for the strut end fitting bolts but no holes will be actually drilled. This will be done on-site by the installer. Some do have 5/16" bolts installed where a 1/4" bolt was standard and original.

I would like to get a count on how many Sedans out there will need lift struts. Please contact me by phone or email; (907)688-3715 or burl@biginalaska.com

Also working on new rudder pedals; these will be a steel welded assembly and not cast aluminum. Casting facilities want too much money to make these now. Sad! The aileron overhead and wing bellcranks will also be welded steel for the same reason.

The weight difference does not seem to be much of a problem. So far the overhead bellcrank is only 2.8 ounces heavier than the cast aluminum original. The wing aileron bellcrank mounting bracket is a 1:1 match on weight. Pedals are still in the development stage and no weight data as yet. Pedals will be of .080 4130 steel with welded reinforcement gussets as per the original design.

Hint of things to come............Hartzell's new composite Trailblazer prop to be offered as optional equipment on new and existing Sedans.

Constructive comments or suggestions are welcome.

Blue skies and fair tailwinds to all,

Burl
