NAA Convention

Post by bwmatz » Sun Apr 02, 2006 23:44

So...who's planning on coming to the convention this year? We've got some new things in store and Aeronca, Inc. is really going to go out of their way to make us all feel welcome to birthplace of our airplanes.

Convention

Post by bwmatz » Sun Apr 30, 2006 22:50

I hope the lack of replies doesn't mean no one is planning to come!

Let's hear it...WHO'S COMING TO MIDDLETOWN?

Make sure you make your hotel reservation early..don't wait 'till you get there! Reserved rooms are limited due to a steel mill strike in Middletown and the hotels are hestitant to hold large blocks of rooms for us since they need them for the temporary steel workers. Just updated the hotel info again tonight...see the convention info page at http://www.aeroncapilots.com/NAC13info.htm

Will be there, hopefully mid-week to help a bit before the throngs of people arrive on Friday!

Not sure how I am getting there just yet, still stuck overseas right now.

NAA's Chief

Post by bwmatz » Mon May 01, 2006 08:29

Mike,

As long as we can get it out of the hangar it's kept in, it will be on display. It's currently undergoing maitenance to get it airworthy again, but it's doubtful it will be flyable by then. After the Convention, it will be moved, and most likely stored, at New Carlisle, where work will continue to get it flying again.

Thanks for the update and all the work the NAA Board is doing for this great group.

I have my hopes set on heading up late-day Friday. Maybe I can hook up with other Georgia Champs and maybe Chiefs, if they can keep up, to follow. What's the camping setup like; showers, johns, someplace within hiking distance for a Pepsi and Candy Bar or grub? Electricity so I can hook up the 5 Gallon Margarita-Maken-Machine? :D

Camping

Post by bwmatz » Tue May 02, 2006 09:05

Nathan,

There is plenty of room for camping, either next to your airplane or away from the activity. The FBO has showers and a real bathroom and there are Port-O-Pots galore. There is a Frish's restaurant within walking distance and a food trailer will be onsite with hotdogs, burgers, etc and drinks.
