Seat covers

Post by john-ranger » Sun Nov 16, 2008 16:18

I'm going to replace the seat covers (front & back) on the Champ. There is a fellow advertising seat covers for the Champ on Barnstormers. He is from Guam. Has anyone used him? This is his ad "Aeronca Champ. Hand Crafted with a finely grained leather, you will be happy with these cushion sets, I promise. Its been some time since I have been able to offer these. Each 4 piece cushion set sells for 325 dollars plus exact cost of postage". Is there any other good source for the seat cushions?

He sells a variety of parts he makes for Aeroncas and has a very good reputation. Can't speak specifically of the cushions, but he is a trusted source.

One of the best sources there is. Don Jones is an Aeronca nut like we are and also a commercial pilot who flies for Continental Air Lines out of Guam. He has some local people producing things that we need to keep our planes in the air.

Very good guy, very nice to deal with and his products are top notch! I have dealt with him for years now and every transaction is excellent.

I purchased a set of Don's seat cushions for my Champ, I am very very happy with them, excellently made they are the most comfortable I've sat on in a Champ. As Joe said he's a good guy to deal with, I checked locally about having new cushions made before I found his ad and Don's price was less money with the shipping then the local guy wanted and his were vinyl.

Joe,

I know the feeling!
I stepped out of my Cessna 120 into a '56 172 Tailwheel.
I enjoy the 172, but there are a lot of things I miss about the 120!
(Except the power, room, and stability!!!)
