Re: Time To Go Flying

I think Bob was refering to being isolated from the COVID-19 virus. Hope you are well Bob, staying inside except to fly, and avoiding people at the airport. I leave my garage and park on the far side of my hangar so I'm not seen. Pull the plane out, fly my 1/2 and hour, put the plane away, and drive...

The show must not go on, at least this year. The 20th Convention has been postponed until June 17-19, 2021

Re: Lycoming O235

Hudson- Best solution is to buy a used or damaged dynafocal mount and then adapt it to the Champ firewall. The welding is fairly straight forward for anyone with gas or TIG welding experience. You can use the Buzz Wagner mount drawing as a reference. It was for an O-235-C1 engine, which used conical...

Re: Aeronca Champ Restoration for the Non A&P

Brian- Legally there isn't much you can do without the A+P license. Best advice is to find a local A+P or better yet an A+P with the IA authorization to work with. You will need someone to inspect any repairs you have to make and sign off that the repairs were made in accordance with AC43-13-1b. It ...

Re: What Carb Air Box for Aeronca TC with C85

Jerry-

Look to AC 23-27 for guidance
https://www.faa.gov/documentLibrary/med ... _23-27.pdf

The box needs to fit the carburetor that is approved for your C-85 and then adapted to fit your TC.

Dick- If I can get my Champ back together I'm in. It has an 18 gallon wing tank and the 13 gallon header tank feeding an O-235. Have you thought about leaving the 20th National Aeronca Convention (mid June) and ending at Airventure (late July)? The Fall is alright to and not quire as hot. Richard I ...
