update....Im now in the process of the fabric going on the fuselage. WOW.....I love this part. only the glueing of the rear section to the verticle stabilizer remain and then the funnest part of the entire multi year project.....the shrinkage of the fabric to the airframe. Needless to say Im getting...

Im in the same boat with respect to facebook, Social media is not my cup of tea at all. My daughter thought I should sign up for facebook.......boy what a disaster, I was inundated with garbage on my pc for a long time. Never again.

I hope we can again get this site active with posts.

Yes I know the one you speak out. Mr. Hembree says he gets enjoyment sittin on the airport bum bench and looking out on the ramp at it. We all believe it has developed roots that keep it in place.

Well...I have been a busy soul here in Calif doing my second Champ re cover and restoration. I have the tail feathers covered in Ceconite 102 and just started spraying the rand o proof today. 10,000 things done and only 10,000 to go. The fuselage is done except for the fabric, including 0 smoh C85 ,...

I have a 7bcm that Im just finishing and will be for sale soon. I wanted to put a feeler out there to see if anyone is interested. At this point the potential buyer could pick the finsh paint scheme and other trim colors. 1946 7BCM C-85-12 WITH 0 SMOH Complete restoration done over last several year...

chafe tape holes

What is the best way to create the hole in the chafe tape for the upper and lower engine cowls were the dzus fittings pass thru. It is the white woven type.

I agree also.very slow lately.... I miss reading all the interesting posts. I just finished everything firewall forward on my 7BCM in the shop. Still looking for a prop for the c85. On another note..today is my 61st birthday and I was fortunate enough to spend the first half of the day flyin the air...

Thanks for the reply. My OEM parts manual refers to it being the "Fuel Injection Pump Flange" but you are correct in most of the time you see vacuum pumps mounted there.
I went to the welding shop this morning and procured a 1/4" piece of aluminum and I will just make one.

Help.... I still can not find the cover plate mentioned in the previous post. I have included a photo. It is the black cover that is just inside the lower crancase baffle intake.

C 85 fuel injection flange cover needed

Does anyone have a cover plate for the fuel injection flange on the small continental. I have removed a Harrison oil cooler and need a stock cover plate part # 21350

Paul I have removed and pounded out flat all of my existing baffles on my c 85 champ engine. The fit was marginally good and I believe that I can sucessfully reproduce them. I also have a set of a65 baffles that were on my other c85 champ. My preference this time is to install new c85 style baffles ...
