wing root fuel gauge

Post by jeffjones »

My 63 7EC has a wing root fuel guage. Where can I get a new one or parts for the old one? Do I need special tools to remove it?

Jeff,
You probably have a knurled nut that holds everything in place. Unscrew that nut and all of the gauge will pull out. There are a couple of gaskets that seal the gauge to the tank, the glass to the gauge and the knurled nut. It has a cork on the end that can be replaced and the indication plate can be refinished. The Model A fuel gauge has similar parts and I hear rumors that some parts interchange.

Try this place for parts and the installation tools. I've used the tool but never the parts but like Paul I've heard they might work.
