I have a couple of those. Maybe I should put a lock on them if I take the plane to Oshkosh.

Did you have to put 'blast tubes' on your caps or did they vent to the nose tank with the regular cap vent? I finally wound up having to braze a forward facing vent tube on the caps to get mine to fill the nose tank on a consistent basis. Work OK now although if the wing tank is filled right to the top it tends to push a small amount of fuel past the gasket and down the wing.

Mike, I ran a small flat screwdriver into each of the four openings (channels) at the lip of the cap. Then I drilled four small holes into the side of the cap into the breathing channels. That may have been a little overkill. It was clear on inspection that the channels could be blocked by the rubber grommet thereby not allowing the tank to vent.

Yes, I have to be carefully and not to fill the tank to the top otherwise fuel will leak out, I assume the leakage is past the gasket. It may, however, be leaking through the breathing channels.

You in Texas yet? I ordered the VGs today.

Arrived in SAT yesterday. We let our house down here out on vacation rental which helps pay the bills but now looking at some repair work. Probably going to put in a wood floor in the living area to replace the carpeting and some other small projects to keep me amused. I'm also going to prowl the local airports and check for a restoration project although 1300 miles is a long ways to haul something back. I tenatively have a Chief project lined up at home anyway or I might build a Sonex.
